"[As artists we are] responsible for [achieving] things that others didn't think we could" - Denice Bennett
(Beechwood Only)
Recorder Resources for Grades 3+:
In music class we will be focusing on the soprano recorder (The first three notes are B-A-G; When all fingers cover the holes, the note is "C.")
Students are responsible for bringing their recorders to class.
Why Grade 3+ ?: Please see the Québec Education Program - Elementary - Music, Page 263, Under "Sound Sources"
Two Recorder Recommendations
Basic Recorder Recommendation:
Recommendation: A plastic recorder from a dollar store. Not as high-quality and harder to control the sound, but easy to clean, great for exploration,
More Professional Recommendation:
Higher-quality recorders may be personally purchased. I recommend a wooden or "wooden-grain" plastic recorder by a long-term well-know to be reliable brand such as Yamaha. Harder to clean, but easier to control the sound, and a better overall sound quality.
